What is burnout?
Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands.
Organizations that do not invest in helping their leaders and employees develop the skills and capacity needed to manage stress, build resilience and overcome burnout will feel the effects; manifested in poor performance, low employee engagement, turnover, and rising health care costs. Individuals who do not develop stress management, resilience, and recovery techniques put themselves at great personal and professional risk.
I know a little bit about burnout, because I’ve been there. And I am on a mission to help individuals and organizations learn to develop the skills and capacity they need to thrive.
